Archduchess Marie-Christine von Habsburg granted tenant rights in her own palace

After 60 years in exile in Switzerland, Duchess Marie-Christine von Habsburg, 87, is living out her golden years as a tenant in two rooms of her family's vast palace in southern Poland.

"Well, isn't that funny? I live here as a tenant in my own palace" in the town of Zywiec, she says, making light of the situation.

But she insists she is "the happiest of tenants" in one of the properties of the famed Habsburg Dynasty, this one expropriated by communists after the war and which her family never ...

Habsburg heir puts 'Dracula's Castle' up for sale in Transylvania

BUCHAREST, Romania - An heir of Romania's former royal family put "Dracula's Castle" in Transylvania up for sale Monday, hoping to secure a buyer who will respect "the property and its history," a U.S.-based investment company said.


 
The Bran Castle, perched on a cliff near Brasov in mountainous central Romania, is a top tourist attraction because of its ties to Prince Vlad the Impaler, the warlord whose cruelty inspired Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, "Dracula."

The House of Habsburg has no association with Mr Joseph Meyers, who has been using the House name without authorization from anyone with the Family, and is in violation of House Law regarding the matter of Imperial House name usage. We as such do not recognize his use of our name and so distance ourself from the man himself. The law must take its course with regard to the alleged offences this man has committed.
